Stowelink participates in the world hypertension day (PART 1) MAY MEASUREMENT MONTH.

Stowelink participated in the recently concluded launch of May measurement month programme during the world hypertension day celebrations. The event organized by various partners attracted a large audience of people getting screened for blood pressure and blood sugar. Hypertension is one of the major conditions leading to the development of non-communicable diseases and especially cardiovascular diseases.

Stowelink was privileged to be one of the member groups which participated in this activity in line with our current project on cardiovascular disease awareness, MyHeart Ke.
The event started with screenings which went throughout the day. Their latter was presentations on hypertension and non-communicable diseases which was then followed by speeches from the participating partners and the Ministry Of Health.

As part of the programme Stowelink also contributed players who engaged in a friendly rugby game which was a way of getting physically fit. Importance of physical fitness and good dieting BASED on local food was over emphasized.in part 2 of this project we will look at how to prevent and control hypertension.
