Stowelink was privileged to be invited by the ministry of health to participate at the launch of the national guidelines for cardiovascular disease management which happened on the same day as the world tobacco day. The theme of the day was linking between tobacco abuse and cardiovascular diseases. It came out very strongly that cardiovascular diseases are becoming an increasingly common disease among Kenyans and therefore a need to adress it.
This comes 2years after Stowelink’s efforts to adress the issue of non communicable diseases and cardiovascular disease in their project Myheart Ke. For Stowelink this is game changing and reaffirms the fact that Stowelink is working in the right direction in ensuring that non communicable diseases are well death with and that the community is well aware of these diseases and how to prevent them. As has been noted the community still has a large gap in as far as non communicable diseases are concerned and the fact that the ministry is doing something about It is a positive indication that we are moving in the right direction.
The launch of the national guidelines for cardiovascular disease management is one big step the even bigger step is in the implementation of the guidelines and ensuring that the information is disseminated to the residents of the country who need the information in simple and relevant ways. We are hoping the ministry will be working towards the successful implementation of the guidelines. We here at Stowelink are committed towards ensuring healthier societies and are ready to join the government in implementing the guidelines because at Stowekink we believe in transforming and empowering lives.
