Stowelink was privileged to be invited to the 5th annual non communicable diseases symposium which was held in Nairobi hospital .the symposium saw relevant bodies dealing with non communicable diseases including medics, the government, non communicable diseases Alliance of Kenya and public health officials invited and participate by giving out presentations. The conference which is in line with Stowelink’s vision of solving the problem of non communicable diseases gave a lot of insight on where we are currently in as far as NCDS are concerned in the country.
AT THE SYMPOSIUM
What came out strongly from the conference is that non communicable diseases are on the rise and 5 years from now we might as a country face double tragedy from trying to solve non communicable diseases while also solving communicable diseases. The seminar emphasised on what needs to be done to avert this problem and what came out strongly is the role of multisectoral approach towards solving the problem and also more importantly on the importance of prevention as key towards solving the problem of NCDS.
THE STOWELINK TEAM
We were privileged as we were recognised in the symposium for what we are doing towards solving the problem of NCDS in Kenya. We ultimately are part of the solution and are looking forward to seeing a society well informed of NCDS and also well equipped with the knowledge on how to effectively prevent it.
