Preface.

Thika Girls’ Karibaribi Secondary School is a Girls boarding School located in the outskirts of Thika town at a place known as Karibaribi. We were interested to reach out to this school because being located in a rural area, they have limited access to such information. There was also need to do so because girls are the most affected by gender based violence and schools are one of the places where the prevalence of these cases are becoming high of late.

Introduction.

Gender based violence has become a common occurrence in our society today. The prevalence rates continue increasing day by day. One of the major causes of this is ignorance due to lack of information. It is therefore of great importance to go out there sensitize the community and equip them with the appropriate information on these gender based violence issues, their causes and ways of preventing and avoiding them.
