
Info4food project is an award winning project under the EFSOYC PROJECT .The project focuses on improving households food security and nutritional value though reduction of food wastage. The project was officially commissioned in an exciting and a high end event which saw the principle secretary, state department for devolution- ministry of devolution and ASALS in attendance. The host which was the vice chancellor Kenyatta university was represented by the DVC research and innovation. The co-founder info4food was the outreach youth champion who represented all the 16 participating social entrepreneurs in the event.

In a very exciting speech the project Principle investigator, Dr Lucy Ogola introduces the outreach youth champions after which the cofounder info4food emphasized on the importance the innovation, youth and innovation and why it’s important that the youth embrace innovation into sustainability and food security. The chief guest had the following remarks

“food shortage is foreseen over the next 6months and diversification of food security will be critical in ensuring the country moves on in achieving SDG 2. He reminded the gathering about the Maputo agreement in relation to food security, land availability, climate change. He said that youth fear getting near the crop and touching the soil and it was our responsibility as outreach youth champions to make agriculture interesting and to transfer information from research to practice.’’
