World Stroke Day is observed on October 29 to underscore the serious nature and high rates of stroke, raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the condition, and ensure better care and support for survivors but the national celebration of this day was postponed to 14th November which also happened to be world diabetes day. World Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign focusing on diabetes mellitus and is held on 14 November each year.
Stowelink joined other partners including SAHO, Plan international and the ministry of health to make this day a success. Stowelink contributed actively on this day by providing free on site screening from its 16 volunteers who attended and through providing health talks. this day was one successful day and continues to act as a reminder that health education is still widely needed especially when it comes to communicating on chronic diseases.
