On the July of 28th 2020, Stowelink founder and CEO Mr. Ogweno Stephen was hosted by The Metropol Tv to talks about the recent corona virus and the new government regulations. Here is a summary of the key points that he highlighted during this talk.
1. When asked about why the numbers are rising, I echoed Dr Githinji’s analysis that the number were and will continue to rise because we are at that point in the epidemiological curve of COVID 19. What we should be worried about is our capacity as a country, as a community and subsequently as individuals to ensure we do not transform the cases to deaths by observing all the guidelines.
2. When asked about extension of curfew and what that means for public health I commented saying, ” by extending the curfew hours, we limit the night life and crowd interaction that used to happen at night, thereby limiting exposure to potential covid 19 treats, infections and spread. You are not locked at home during curfew, you are safe at home.
3. When asked about the alcohol issue and the strong stand to limit it’s consumption, I definitely supported the presidents move arguing that alcohol consumption weakens the immune system making it susceptible to covid 19.finally I concluded my contribution by stating that bars and clubs are places that people meet and interact and implementing covid 19 guidelines would be utterly impossible as a result there was indeed no need to have those joints open.
