Since the rise of the COVID 19 pandemic globally Stowelink has been keen on ensuring that people living with non-communicable diseases are protected against COVID 19. Stowelink has used various approaches to help the NCDs community both locally and globally to protect themselves from COVID 19 and this work has since attracted the attention of the united nations youth envoy which featured our work as one of the top 10 global initiatives led by youth working on COVID 19 effects and creating impact in communities.
Globally Stowelink assembled the NCDs and COVID 19 brochure which had critical information on the relationship between COVID 19 and NCDs in a simplified and easy to understand language. This brochure has since been printed and translated into 4 languages for use across Africa and India. Through the NCDs 365 project we have also continued to create this awareness across the 8 countries we are actively working on. Locally we have partnered with Vihiga county to open 4 NCDs county to serve a community of over 241,000 people and we are currently working in Nairobi in Njathaini community to map out and provide necessary support to people living with NCDs where we work very closely with community health workers.
