STOWELINK ACHIEVES OUTSTANDING PROGRESS WITH THEIR WORK WITH VIHIGA COUNTY MEDICAL FACILITIES IN IMPROVING SCREENING AND CARE FOR NCDS PATIENTS.

Over the past 9 months Stowelink has been working actively with Vihiga county to ensure that there is improved priority and attention for non-communicable diseases both at the county government policy level and at the service provision level and at the patient groups level. To this end Stowelink through support from the NCD Alliance of Kenya have been constantly ensuring that non communicable diseases become a priority for the NCDs community.

Last week as Stowelink visited back the county to follow up on the progress. we had managed to reopen 4 medical clinics in Vihiga county to support people living with non-communicable diseases after these were temporarily closed due to the COVID 19. To date we have managed to increase the capacity of these medical clinics to screen for people living with non-communicable diseases and we have seen an increases traffic in the medical facilities. More and more people are getting screened in Vihiga county and more and more people living with NCDs are receiving the required care that they need as they live with non-communicable diseases. despite the fact that these efforts are still not enough, we are very proud of this partnership which has lead to increased traffic, increased care and increased attention to people living with non-communicable diseases.

The movement is on.
