In January 2021, Stowelink signed up on National NCD Navigator tool. Being a key player in the NCDs field, Stowelink joined other organization to fill this dynamic mapping too for NCD program which shows the scale of activities across the country with real-time data and visualization. Developed by PATH in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (Kenya), the NCD navigator is a first-of-its-kind, locally managed, NCD digital information system that provides information on NCD programming in a country. This tool came in handy as a platform with information on non-communicable diseases to inform priority setting, coordination, and resource allocation/realignment.
Since the navigator tool depends on real-time data to provide updates on NCDs program and activities, there is a need for organization in this space to regularly meet and provide data to be fed into the tool. It is for this reason that PATH in collaboration with the Ministry of Health-Kenya organized the meeting at Crown Plaza Hotel, Nairobi bringing together several organization in the field of non-communicable diseases.
Stowelink, through the Chief Program Officer- Oduor Kevin, participated in this meeting. Stowelink updated the tool with the ongoing projects and activities. These include the NCDs365 —our flagship project, IPAB project, JKUAT (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology) medical camp, drug sensitization event at Kenyatta University among other plethora of activities.
We are glad to be actively involved in this noble initiative. Stowelink is proud to be associated with this tool and we are looking forward to providing necessary support. We are convinced that this tool is a game changer in the NCD space, and it will help establish common understanding of gaps, mobilize organizations to work collectively to avoid duplication and seize opportunities to better meet the needs of PLWNCDs.
