On June 16th, 2024, Stowelink Foundation launched the first week of May Measurement Month (MMM) with a series of cardiovascular health education and screening activities in Githurai, Nairobi, Kenya. This initiative is part of the annual MMM campaign, locally led by the Kenya Cardiac Society and internationally by the International Society of Hypertension.
About May Measurement Month
May Measurement Month is a global campaign spearheaded by the International Society of Hypertension. Its primary goal is to raise awareness about the importance of regular blood pressure checks, a crucial step in preventing and managing hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases.

Week 1 Activities
Throughout the week, Stowelink conducted extensive community mobilization efforts in schools, churches, sporting clubs, and door-to-door campaigns to ensure a high turnout for the health screenings and educational sessions. The activities were designed to provide comprehensive health education on cardiovascular health, obesity, diabetes, and nutrition.

Community Engagement and Impact
- Health Screenings: Over 300 individuals participated in health screenings, primarily focusing on cardiovascular health.
- Health Education: More than 2,500 individuals received vital health education throughout the week.
