Stowelink CPO Presents at the World Conference on Tobacco Control 2025

The Stowelink Foundation was proud to be represented at the World Conference on Tobacco Control (WCTC2025) held in Dublin, Ireland, by our Chief Programs Officer, Oduor Kevin. The conference, organized by The Union with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, brought together global leaders in tobacco control.

Oduor, one of the scholarship recipients to attend the global event, delivered a presentation titled:

“Countering Tobacco Industry Interference in the Digital Space: Lessons from Kenya”

In his presentation, he shared insights from Stowelink’s flagship program that he leads — the Tobacco Industry Interference Digital Watch Initiative (TIIDWI), highlighting how youth-led digital advocacy is being used to track, expose, and respond to pro-tobacco narratives online.

Key Results Shared:

  • ✅ Over 1.25 million people reached through digital content
  • ✅ 57 pro-tobacco posts flagged and countered
  • ✅ Enhanced youth engagement in digital health advocacy
  • ✅ Amplification of media narratives in favor of strong tobacco control policies

Oduor’s participation also included attending key sessions on tobacco control financing, sustainability, and global health policy shifts. He joined discussions with representatives from Kenya and beyond on the role of dedicated funds like Kenya’s Tobacco Control Fund and Solatium Fund — which has received over USD 2 million to date — and the threats posed by changing donor landscapes.

As an organization, Stowelink Foundation remains committed to leveraging digital innovation, youth power, and policy advocacy to strengthen the fight against tobacco and non-communicable diseases.

We congratulate our CPO on this milestone and look forward to scaling up the work of TIIDWI both locally and globally.
