Strengthening Youth Health Voices Across Africa and Europe: Inside Stowelink Foundation’s AU–EU NCD Collaboration Project

In 2025, the Stowelink Foundation led one of the most impactful cross-continental youth health initiatives under the AU–EU partnership—an ambitious project designed to elevate youth leadership in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) prevention and mental health advocacy across Africa and Europe. Through this initiative, Stowelink advanced its mission of empowering young people with knowledge, digital tools, and platforms to participate meaningfully in global health conversations.

A Digital Bridge Between Two Continents

The project, NCDs 365: Youth for Health Equity Across Continents, blended storytelling, technology, and health education to strengthen youth engagement in NCD advocacy. Guided by Stowelink’s long-standing expertise in youth-focused communication and digital innovation, the initiative exceeded all its original targets.

Key Outputs Delivered

  • 3 long-form youth-led dialogue interviews featuring continental leaders such as Clare Hanbury and Lucía Feito Allonca
  • 25 high-impact short educational videos, a 400% increase above targets
  • A cross-continental NCD storytelling hub integrated into the Lifesten App
  • A digital dashboard hosting youth stories, NCD resources, and advocacy materials
  • 7.5 hours of digital content now used for open learning across multiple countries

By November 2025, the digital content had already reached 36,112 young people, with projections to exceed 50,000 by early 2026.

Building a Connected Youth Community Across 8 Countries

One of the project’s most successful components is the AU–EU Youth Health Collaboration Group, hosted on the Lifesten App.
Through Stowelink’s coordination, the group now includes:

  • 121 active young members
  • Representing 8 countries across Africa and Europe
  • Engaging in continuous discussion on NCDs and mental health

This hub has evolved into a sustainable digital community that will continue long after the project period, reflecting Stowelink’s commitment to long-term youth engagement.

Creative Digital Media at the Center of Youth Engagement

Stowelink leveraged its strong digital media capabilities to translate complex health topics into relatable content for youth audiences. The project combined:

  • Long-form dialogues
  • Short explainer videos
  • Youth-led storytelling
  • Micro-content for social media
  • A digital resource library
  • Cross-border online conversations

This digital-first strategy ensured wide dissemination, reaching young people far beyond the direct project participants.
