Closing 2025 with Momentum: Stowelink Foundation Fourth Quarter Highlights

The fourth quarter of 2025 marked a period of accelerated impact, recognition, and strategic positioning for the Stowelink Foundation. Between October and December, Stowelink strengthened its leadership in noncommunicable diseases, mental health, tobacco control, digital health, and youth-led advocacy, while deepening its engagement at national, regional, and global levels.

This quarter saw significant recognition of Stowelink’s leadership and lived-experience-driven approach. Our Founder and CEO, Ogweno Stephen, was named UHC Champion of the Year by the Global UHC2030 Coalition, reaffirming Stowelink’s role in advancing equitable health systems. In parallel, Naila Chebet Koech received the NCD Alliance Kenya Media Award for excellence in mental health and NCD advocacy, highlighting the power of youth leadership and strategic storytelling.

Programmatically, Stowelink continued to deliver high-impact digital and community-based health education. We concluded the Physical Exercise and NCDs series with a focus on creating NCD-conscious workplaces, while releasing multiple episodes exploring the links between physical activity, mental health, immunity, and community support systems. These efforts reinforced Stowelink’s commitment to translating evidence into accessible public health communication.

Advocacy remained a central pillar of our work. Stowelink actively contributed to tobacco industry monitoring initiatives, including the nationwide #UnmaskTheTacticsKE campaign, and participated in key stakeholder forums advancing sustainable health financing through tobacco control. We also strengthened our policy influence through strategic media engagement and partnerships with national advocacy coalitions.

The quarter further positioned Stowelink on the global stage. We contributed to landmark discussions on obesity policy and lived-experience leadership, engaged in AU–EU NCD collaboration initiatives, and highlighted cutting-edge research on digital health innovation in Africa. Hosting a strategic visit from Children for Health’s founder underscored our commitment to cross-learning and partnership.

As we closed 2025, the fourth quarter reflected Stowelink’s evolution into a trusted policy actor, knowledge generator, and youth-led platform for systems change.
