Stowelink Foundation continues to strengthen youth leadership in tobacco control by sharing practical skills that improve monitoring and accountability.
Our Chief Programs Officer recently facilitated a practical session during the Youth Champions Training on Systematic Monitoring of Tobacco Industry Interference organized by the Kenya Tobacco Control Alliance (KETCA).
The training drew from lessons our CPO learned during TIMRA2026, an international course hosted by the Tobacco Control Research Group at the University of Bath. Participants were introduced to practical investigative tools including Google Advanced Search, Google Alerts, Wayback Machine, LinkedIn, and PhotoVoice.
The training equipped approximately forty youth advocates with skills to monitor tobacco industry activities, document tobacco industry interference, investigate industry networks, and collect evidence that supports advocacy and policy implementation.
At Stowelink Foundation, we believe that strengthening local capacity is essential to protecting public health from tobacco industry interference. By transferring knowledge gained through international learning opportunities, we help ensure that global best practices are translated into meaningful action within Kenyan communities.
