MyHeart Ke 2019- Stowelink officially partnering with the Kenya Cardiac Society to implement the MAY MEASUREMENT MONTH 2019

May Measurement Month is a global movement aimed at getting individuals to know their blood pressure numbers. The movement is aimed at creating awareness on non-communicable diseases and especially cardiovascular diseases including hypertension and high blood pressure. The activities in this month include blood pressure screening and counselling on blood pressure and its implications on health.

Stowelink is partnering with Kenya cardiac society in a bid to join this global movement and engage in free blood pressure measurement and counseling to residents of Nairobi county specifically within Githurai, Kasarani, Kahawa and Ruiru regions in Nairobi.

The following are Stowelink’s planned activities for the may measurement month movement.

Stowelink will engage actively its vast followers across social media platforms under the hashtags #stowelink #mmm_kenya and #knowyournumbers.

Stowelink will also identify one youth champion who has lived with high blood pressure and share their positive stories through our social media channels.

This year Stowelink wants to engage the communities in Nairobi through the churches. We intend to hold 4 events throughout the month on 4 different churches from Kenyatta Market(km), Githurai (44 and 45) and Kahawa areas. These events will be branded pima pressure events and will be conducted in various churches from these regions.

Estimated projections show that we are likely to reach an average of 1000-1200 individuals in these areas. The team will consist of 22 volunteers which include members of the individual churches we intend to do the testing at.

The planned dates for the activities are 5th 12th 19th and 26th May.
