Stowelink is glad to have brought on board volunteers who are driven by the desire to make meaningful contribution in the NCDs. Mostly drawn from university students and fresh graduates, the volunteers come in handy to help Stowelink achieve its strategic goals. The volunteers are also from different professions —from Education, IT, and health. This is deliberate owing to the fact that NCDs response is not pegged only on health professionals but requires the mobilization of everyone for proper and coordinated response.
But for Stowelink, it is not only about how these volunteers will help in achieving the organization’s goals but also how they will gain valuable hands-on experience and certain life-long skills. It is about developing the volunteers, imparting requisite skills and knowledge in them, molding them into formidable corporate leaders and optimizing their key competencies. This is in line with Stowelink’s overarching goal of “Transforming and Empowering Lives.”
Stowelink strongly believes that voluntarism is central to its ethos. The organization is looking forward to engaging volunteers in a manner that will offer value to them as well as helping the organization grow. Further, Stowelink is focusing on making volunteerism a hallmark of the ways in which it undertakes its work especially in NCDs advocacy. We value working with and through others.
As recognition increases of the ways in which voluntary involvement is critical to the work of the organization, it is compelled to view a volunteer program more as an organizational resource and asset, worthy of investment of funds, staffing and recognition. Volunteer engagement will be continually and consciously developed and strengthened at Stowelink. This is a testament of the organization’s wide approach to enhance volunteer involvement to help realize Stowelink’s goals and priorities
