Welcome to 2022. And whilst we are already into the year our message and commitment for action in 2022 is still strong and relevant as a guide to our action in 2022.
This will be a short message that clearly demonstrates the direction of the organization this coming year. But first let’s start from the beginning. In 2015, that’s 7 years ago, Ogweno Stephen had this grand idea to start Stowelink and he immediately acted on it. He started Stowelink with the vision to be the leading organization when it comes to advocacy, education, literacy and access to early diagnostic services for non-communicable diseases across sub-Saharan Africa. 7 years later we are proud to say that we are very much on track to meeting that vision.
In 2022, Stowelink is going to see some expansion in focus areas, advocacy, and action especially when it comes to improving the health and wellbeing of communities and especially when it comes to representing young people in the health spaces. In 2022, we are going to start the Stowelink foundation which in addition to focusing on non-communicable diseases will also focus on issues that affect young people including sexual and reproductive health and social behavior change for better health outcomes. We will be bringing our 7 years’ experience and using it to improve the foundations work. In 2022, we also vow to continue to become the leading innovation and future focused organization in the spaces of non-communicable diseases and the new thematic areas. We intend to also expand our reach and partners past the 10 countries that we are already working in to continue to create more continental and global impact.
Finally, we intend to strengthen our research focus as an organization aiming at not only contributing to evidence but also using it for advocacy both locally and internationally. Our mission as Stowelink continues to stay the same since our inception 7 years ago, we aim at transforming and empowering lives.
