Our Chief Programs Officer, Mr. Oduor Kevin was privileged to be among the presenters during the 2nd YouTH Voices summit. As a champion for UHC, he presented on mHealth Integration into Kenya’s Healthcare Infrastructure to Augment Universal Health Coverage. He talked about how mobile health solutions are nurturing the hopes for Kenya to leapfrog over advanced nations in the delivery of quality healthcare services. The CPO also highlighted the forms of mHealth solutions already in operation in Kenya which can provide the evidence base for integration. Even so, he did not shy away from talking about some of the potential challenges that could impede mHealth integration. Oduor’s presentation also highlighted some of the recommendations for the effective integration of mHealth solutions into the larger healthcare infrastructure. The 2nd YouTH Voices Summit 2022 took place from 1st to 3rd December bringing together young professionals and University Students in Kenya. Organized under the theme of ‘Activating Youthful Leadership Towards the Realization of UHC (Universal Health Coverage) in Kenya,’ the summit explored ways through which young people can help improve access to quality healthcare services and products, including promoting human capital development through operational research, health communication, health system strengthening and capacity building programs. The summit was hosted by Ryculture Health and Social Innovation YouTH Voices Network, a platform designed to enlighten, empower, and evoke action among the Kenyan youth to act for their health & health of their communities.
