Stowelink Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing literacy on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), has been recognized for its exceptional work in improving healthcare. The organization recently won big at the Quality Healthcare Awards, taking home the Best Use of Social Media in Healthcare award for their NCDs 365 project.
The NCDs 365 project, which has been running for four years, utilizes technology to educate individuals on NCDs, such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. The project aims to provide an easy, fun, and simplified way for individuals to learn about these lifestyle diseases, as well as how to prevent them by making lifestyle changes. Through the use of social media, Stowelink has been able to reach a larger audience and spread awareness about NCDs.
Stowelink was also recognized as first runners-up in the Student Project of the Year category for a research project from Oduor Kevin. This is a testament to the organization’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting innovation in healthcare.
Moreover, the foundation also clinched the second runners-up position in the Health and Climate Change Projects category for their NCDs for Climate Change projects in Nairobi, Kenya. This category highlights projects that address the intersection between health and climate change, which is a growing concern worldwide.
During the gala event, Stowelink was represented by Oduor Kevin, the Chief Programmes Officer, and Naila Chebet Koech, the External Relations and Partnerships Lead. They expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the recognition, stating that it was a testament to the organization’s commitment to improving healthcare in Kenya and beyond.
