ENHANCING CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH IN NAIROBI: A SUCCESSFUL MAY MEASUREMENT MONTH PROJECT

The Stowelink Foundation is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of its May Measurement Month (MMM) project after four weeks of dedicated screening and outreach. May Measurement Month is a global campaign led by the International Society of Hypertension, emphasizing the crucial importance of regular blood pressure checks.

In 2023, we stepped up our commitment to cardiovascular health by reaching out to the Githurai community in Nairobi County. This densely populated urban area presented a unique challenge, and Stowelink was up for the task. Our goal was to provide essential cardiovascular health education and conduct screenings to ensure the well-being of the residents.

Remarkably, we were able to reach more than 5000 individuals during the project, significantly extending their impact on the community. We conducted screenings for nearly 100 individuals in the challenging slum areas of Githurai. The success of this project is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Stowelink’s volunteers and their effective partnerships with local healthcare facilities.

By creating awareness and offering crucial screenings, Stowelink has not only contributed to the well-being of thousands but also furthered the cause of cardiovascular health. We continue to be at the forefront of initiatives addressing non-communicable diseases, making a significant difference in the lives of individuals and communities in Nairobi. Stowelink’s commitment to health advocacy and education remains unwavering, and its impact is tangible, reflecting the spirit of positive change.
