The non-communicable diseases Inter-sectoral coordinating Committee, is a body which was selected to take part in the running and management of all maters non-communicable diseases in the country. Stowelink was privileged to have been invited at a dissemination forum for the non-communicable diseases ICC where strategies were discussed on how to beat non-communicable diseases moving forward.

The burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (Non-communicable diseases) such as Diabetes and Hypertension is on the rise in Kenya mostly due to the adoption of unhealthy lifestyles such as physical inactivity, consumption of unhealthy foods, alcohol intake and tobacco use. The adoption of these lifestyles is largely driven by urbanization, westernization and an aging population.

The NCD ICC recognized that prevention will be critical in reducing preventable deaths by non-communicable diseases and in turn contribute to positive development. We here at Stowelink vowed to continue focusing on innovation, prevention and non-communicable diseases in the youth especially. We recognize that the non-communicable diseases bus is already full we need to focus on preventing non-communicable diseases from happening in the first place!
