About Global Youth Meet
HRIDAY hosted the First GYM in 2006 with an aim to unify efforts from different sectors and organizations for youth inclusion on various health themes. The successful outcome of the conclave paved the way for the Second GYM in 2009, which was held as a pre-conference workshop to the 14th World Conference on Tobacco OR Health (WCTOH) at Mumbai, India to deliberate and debate on tobacco control issues. The Third GYM 2015 laid emphasis on empowering youth with advocacy and leadership skills to develop action plan for reaching the Post 2015 Goals and called attention from various sectors nationally and internationally to invest in youth for sustainable future through the ‘GUARD OUR GLOBE’ movement. HRIDAY is now organizing the 4th GYM on Health (Virtual) in April, 2021. The proposed theme is “Youth-led innovative public health actions for Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals”. GYM 2021 will strengthen the capacity of youth leaders, hone their skills to plan, implement, monitor and scale-up integrated campaigns to meet their national NCD targets and accelerate action for SDGs.
